Fathym’s WeatherCloud forecasting and sensor technology increases safety and efficiency with real-time, hyper-local road weather information
Boulder, CO – September 22, 2017 – Fathym, Inc., a leading provider of IoT solutions, announced today a partnership with RONN Motor Group, Inc. to integrate mobile weather sensors and forecasting into the RONN fleet chassis and co-develop an “Edge” IoT service platform that drives decision intelligence and driver safety features back to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) within the vehicle.

This also provides Fathym unique access to CAN (Controller Area Network) bus data generated by fleet vehicles that will deliver real-time observations that can enhance the WeatherCloud forecasting model.
This actionable data will enable drivers to take the necessary precautions needed to ensure that they arrive at their desired destination safely, all the while maintaining RONN Motor Group’s commitment to creating globally-conscious unparalleled performance vehicles.

Snowy precipitation conditions do not always equate to snow-packed roads, for example. This technology aligns perfectly with the RONN Motor Group strategy to dynamically set up the vehicle based on pavement friction. The companies will also be collaborating on improving efficiencies in manufacturing.
